About SESK
SESK stands for Stuff Everyone Should Know: short, animated explainers of the practical things nobody sits you down and teaches. How cars work at the pump, money basics, home repair, tech and safety, health basics, outdoor and Scout skills, and skills for kids.
The Just Right idea
Most everyday mistakes come from doing too little or too much. Every SESK video ends with a Just Right card showing both, and what's just right. Not too much. Not too little. Just right.
The cast
- Allen: Your host. Orange shirt, orange cap, and a dad joke for every topic.
- Stacey: Always gets it just right.
- Xander: Tries first, and comes up a little short.
- Avery: Goes overboard, every time.
How the videos are made
SESK is made by Allen with a lot of help from AI. The animation is AI-generated, and the narration is Allen's own voice, cloned with AI. Our videos are labeled as AI-generated on YouTube and Facebook. AI helps find topics and draft scripts, but every video is reviewed and approved by Allen before it's published.
Every factual claim is checked against a source, and the sources are listed on each video's page. Health topics are general information only: read the label, and don't go past the dose unless your doctor says so.
For families
SESK is family friendly and made for a general audience. The site has no accounts or comments, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Links and money
Some pages link to products on Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, SESK earns from qualifying purchases. It doesn't change the price you pay, and we only list gear that fits the topic.
