Which German World War II jet had about 1,400 examples produced?
About 1,400 Messerschmitt Me 262 jets were produced.
- Messerschmitt Me 262 ✔
- Supermarine Spitfire
- Boeing B-29
Why: Germany produced more than 1,400 Me 262 aircraft, but fewer than 300 saw combat. Many never reached operational units or could not fly for lack of fuel, parts, or trained pilots.
Huh, didn't know that: The Spitfire and B-29 used piston engines and propellers, while the Me 262 used turbojets.
Why did the Me 262 skip the propeller? It wanted to blow everyone away.
