What is a nebula?
A giant cloud of dust and gas in space, where new stars can form.
- A small rocky moon
- A giant cloud of dust and gas ✔
- A star that has burned out
Why: A nebula is a huge cloud of gas, mostly hydrogen, mixed with dust. Some nebulae are star nurseries where gravity pulls material together into new stars. Others are made from material blown off by dying stars.
Huh, didn't know that: Some nebulae come from the explosion of a dying star, called a supernova.
Why did the baby star feel so safe? It grew up in a nebula, the best nursery in the galaxy.
