Why: Adjutant's cadence is simply a faster march, 140 steps per minute. It is not a goose step or a funny walk. The adjutant uses it to move with dignity to a spot between the commanders.
Huh, didn't know that: Regular marching is 100 to 120 steps per minute, and double time is 180.
Why is the adjutant never late? He has 140 reasons a minute to hurry.
