SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/cadet-by-the-numbers
What does training by the numbers let cadets do?
It lets cadets practice a movement one count at a time.
- Skip difficult counts
- Practice silently without commands
- Learn one count at a time ✔
Why: Breaking a multi-count movement into separate pieces makes each position easier to see and correct. The full movement comes after the pieces are understood.
Huh, didn't know that: The command Ready, TWO moves learners to the second count during this method.
Why did the movement learn arithmetic? It was taught by the numbers.
