What does a flanking movement do while marching?
It turns the unit 90 degrees for a short move.
- Turns 45 degrees and halts
- Turns 90 degrees while marching ✔
- Reverses direction for a long march
Why: Right or left flank changes the unit's direction by 90 degrees while it is moving. It is meant for short distances.
Huh, didn't know that: The preparatory command is timed to the foot matching the direction of the turn.
Why did the flight turn sideways? It had a change of pace.
