SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/cadet-valid-evaluation
What makes a learning evaluation valid?
It measures what learners actually studied.
- It includes surprise subjects
- It uses the hardest questions available
- It connects to the lesson objectives ✔
Why: An evaluation should check whether learners reached the stated objectives. Testing unrelated material cannot fairly show whether the lesson succeeded.
Huh, didn't know that: Evaluation may use written tests, oral questions, discussion, or direct observation.
Why did the quiz stay on topic? It wanted a valid point.
