What is Independence Day?

A holiday to celebrate U.S. independence from Britain.

  1. A holiday honoring soldiers who died
  2. A holiday celebrating independence from Britain ✔
  3. A holiday marking the end of the Civil War

Why: Independence Day, July 4, celebrates independence from Britain and is called the country's birthday. Memorial Day honors fallen soldiers.

Huh, didn't know that: Congress made July 4 an official holiday in Washington, D.C. in 1870, and a paid holiday for federal workers in 1938.

The dad joke
Why are there no knock-knock jokes about America? Because freedom rings.
