The Constitution starts with "We the People." What does that mean?

Self-government: the people govern themselves.

  1. Rule by a king
  2. Rule by the states only
  3. People should govern themselves ✔

Why: "We the People" means power comes from the people. USCIS accepts self-government, popular sovereignty, or consent of the governed. Leaders get their power because people agree to it.

Huh, didn't know that: "We the People" is written in giant letters across the top of the original Constitution.

The dad joke
Why did the quill pen love writing "We the People"? It was a very inclusive pen.
