How often should people with diabetes check their feet?

Every day, including between the toes.

  1. Every day ✔
  2. Once a month
  3. Only when they hurt

Why: Diabetes can reduce feeling in the feet, so a blister or cut may not hurt. A daily look catches problems early. A mirror or a helper works if bending over is hard.

Huh, didn't know that: NIDDK suggests an easy habit: check your feet each evening when you take off your shoes.
