SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/diab-level2-hypo-54
Which glucose range defines Level 2 hypoglycemia in ADA's system?
Below 54 mg/dL.
- Below 54 mg/dL ✔
- 54 to 69 mg/dL
- 70 to 99 mg/dL
Why: ADA sorts lows into levels. Level 1 is under 70 but at least 54 mg/dL. Level 2 is under 54 mg/dL, a more serious low that needs quick action.
Huh, didn't know that: CDC also calls a reading below 54 mg/dL severe low blood sugar.
Level 2 sounds like a video game. Except the boss is your blood sugar.
