SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/diab-prediabetes-a1c
What A1C range counts as prediabetes?
5.7% to 6.4%, higher than normal but not yet diabetes.
- 5.7% to 6.4% ✔
- 4.0% to 5.0%
- 7.0% to 8.0%
Why: Under 5.7% is normal. From 5.7% to 6.4% means blood sugar is higher than normal but not in the diabetes range. That is a chance to act early, since prediabetes doesn't have to become type 2.
Huh, didn't know that: Prediabetes can also show up as a fasting blood sugar of 100 to 125 mg/dL.
Where do math teachers go on vacation? Times Square.
