SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/ham-two-meter-offset
What is a common repeater offset on the 2-meter band?
Plus or minus 600 kHz.
- Plus or minus 5 MHz
- Plus or minus 1 MHz
- Plus or minus 600 kHz ✔
Why: Most 2-meter repeaters listen 600 kHz above or below where they transmit. On 70 centimeters the common offset is 5 MHz.
Huh, didn't know that: Repeater offset means the difference between a repeater's transmit and receive frequencies.
Why was the repeater so balanced? It always kept a 600 kHz offset.
