What does the Lacey Act mainly make illegal?

Trading or moving wildlife that was taken illegally, including across state lines.

  1. Hunting without orange clothing
  2. Hunting on Sundays
  3. Moving or selling illegally taken wildlife ✔

Why: If an animal was taken in violation of a state, federal or foreign law, the Lacey Act makes it a federal crime to transport, sell, buy or possess it. That turns a state poaching case into a federal one.

Huh, didn't know that: Lacey Act violations can bring civil or criminal penalties.

The dad joke
Why did the fish get in trouble? It crossed the state line without a permit.
