SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/pilot-right-of-way-balloon
When aircraft of different categories converge, which one has the right of way over all the others?
A balloon, the least maneuverable.
- A balloon ✔
- A glider
- An airship
Why: Rule 91.113(d) ranks right of way by how hard the aircraft is to steer. A balloon beats every other category, then gliders, then aircraft towing or refueling others, then airships.
Huh, didn't know that: Between two aircraft of the same category, the one on the other's right has the right of way.
What is a balloon's least favorite music? Pop.
