With no toilet around, how deep should you dig a cathole?

6 to 8 inches deep.

Why: Dig 6 to 8 inches deep and at least 200 feet from water, camp and trails. Cover and disguise the hole when you're done.

Huh, didn't know that: Leave No Trace says the hole should be about 4 to 6 inches across, dug with a small trowel.
