SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/scout-trip-plan
Before a hike, who should get a copy of your trip plan?
A trusted person who is not going on the trip.
- Only the people hiking with you
- A trusted contact who is staying home ✔
- Nobody, plans change anyway
Why: If you don't come back on time, someone at home knows where to send help. Leave it with a trusted contact who is not on the trip.
Huh, didn't know that: The Park Service Junior Ranger Park Explorer booklet includes a trip plan template.
Why did the hiker leave a trip plan? He wanted someone to know where he was going, even if he didn't.
