Micron's DDR4 vs DDR5 table lists which chip feature as new in DDR5?
On-die ECC, error correction built into each memory chip.
- A 1.5 volt supply
- Half of DDR4's burst length
- On-die ECC (error correction) ✔
Why: Micron lists on-die ECC for DDR5 and none for DDR4. DDR5 actually lowers the supply to 1.1 volts and doubles the burst length to 16.
Huh, didn't know that: Micron says on-die ECC strengthens on-chip reliability by checking and scrubbing errors inside the chip.
Why did the man get fired from his job at the keyboard factory? He wasn't putting in enough shifts.
