What does GVWR mean on a commercial vehicle?
GVWR is the maximum loaded weight set by the manufacturer.

Why: Gross vehicle weight rating is the most the loaded vehicle should weigh. Exceeding it is unsafe and illegal.
Huh, didn't know that: For a tractor and trailers, the matching rating is the GCWR, the gross combination weight rating.
