What part of the federal government writes laws?
Congress, the legislative branch.

Why: Congress is the legislative branch, and its main job is writing laws. The Supreme Court reviews laws and the Cabinet advises the President.
Huh, didn't know that: A bill must pass both the House and the Senate in the same form before it goes to the President.
