SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/civics-form-of-government
What is the form of government of the United States?
A republic, where people elect leaders to govern for them.
- Republic ✔
- Constitutional monarchy
- Direct democracy
Why: In a republic, citizens elect representatives to make laws for them. USCIS also accepts constitution-based federal republic or representative democracy. The U.S. has no king.
Huh, didn't know that: The Pledge of Allegiance mentions it: "and to the Republic for which it stands."
Why did the republic bring a map to the meeting? To show where it stands.
