SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/co-alarm

When a CO alarm goes off, get outside to fresh air first, then call 911.
- Get everyone outside, then call 911 ✔
- Open the windows and look for what's causing it
- Press the button to quiet it and see if it goes off again
Why: Carbon monoxide has no smell or color, so you can't find it or tell how much is in the air. Get to fresh air first, then call 911 from outside. Every level of your home and the area outside bedrooms should have a CO alarm.
