SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/diab-a1c-target-7
For many adults with diabetes, what A1C goal does the ADA suggest?
7% or less for many adults. Your care team may set a different goal.
- Under 5%
- 7% or less ✔
- Under 10%
Why: Many adults aim for 7% or less, but your care team may set a higher or lower goal based on age, health history and risk of lows. The right number is the one that fits you.
Huh, didn't know that: An A1C of 7% matches an estimated average glucose of about 154 mg/dL.
Why do plants hate math? It gives them square roots.
