Which warning sign can point to diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA)?

Fruity-smelling breath, along with thirst, vomiting or fast, deep breathing.

  1. Shaky hands right before lunch
  2. Fruity-smelling breath ✔
  3. Cold, clammy skin

Why: DKA signs include high blood sugar, high ketones, thirst, frequent urination, nausea or vomiting, fast deep breathing and fruity-smelling breath. Contact your doctor right away, and get emergency care if it's severe.

Huh, didn't know that: CDC says DKA usually develops slowly, with early signs like being very thirsty and urinating much more than usual.
