What fasting blood sugar result is in the diabetes range?

126 mg/dL or higher on a fasting test.

  1. 126 mg/dL or higher ✔

Why: On a fasting test, 126 mg/dL or higher points to diabetes, 100 to 125 is prediabetes, and under 100 is normal. Fasting means nothing but water for at least 8 hours.
