Which tests check for diabetic kidney disease?

A urine test and a blood test.

  1. An X-ray of the back
  2. A urine test and a blood test ✔
  3. A hearing test

Why: Most people with diabetic kidney disease have no symptoms, so testing is the only way to know. A urine test looks for a protein called albumin, and a blood test checks how well the kidneys filter.

Huh, didn't know that: Diabetes is the leading cause of kidney disease, and about 1 in 3 adults with diabetes has kidney disease.
