SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/drone-remote-pilot-minimum-age
What is the minimum age to get an FAA Remote Pilot Certificate?
16 years old.
- 16 years old ✔
- 14 years old
- 18 years old
Why: Part 107 requires you to be at least 16 to hold a Remote Pilot Certificate. You must also read, speak, write and understand English and have no known condition that would make flying unsafe.
Huh, didn't know that: At the knowledge test, your photo ID must show a date of birth proving you meet the age requirement.
Why did the 15-year-old drone pilot keep checking the calendar? He was counting down to sweet sixteen and clear skies.
