A TAF forecast covers what area around an airport?

A 5 statute mile radius around the airport.

  1. A 25 nautical mile radius
  2. The entire state
  3. A 5 statute mile radius ✔

Why: A Terminal Aerodrome Forecast is a forecast for the airport area itself, out to five statute miles. It uses the same codes as a METAR and usually covers 24 or 30 hours.

Huh, didn't know that: In a TAF, P6SM means visibility forecast to be greater than 6 statute miles.

The dad joke
I'm a little worried about the calendar. Its days are numbered.
