SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/elec-gfci-test-monthly
At a minimum, how often should you test a GFCI?
Test every GFCI at least monthly.
- At least once a month ✔
- Once a year
- Only after a trip
Why: Pressing the test button should cut power, and reset should restore it. A GFCI that no longer trips can't protect you.
Huh, didn't know that: CPSC also advises a portable GFCI whenever operating electrically powered garden equipment.
Why did the fuse feel calm? It had blown off some steam.
