SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/elec-grounding-def
In NEC terms, grounding means connecting a system or equipment to what?
Grounding connects to the earth.
- The neutral conductor
- The panel's metal enclosure
- The earth ✔
Why: Grounding is the connection to the earth through a grounding electrode. Joining metal parts to each other is a different job, called bonding.
Huh, didn't know that: Article 250 sets minimum requirements for a safe installation; it is not a design specification.
Why has no electrician ever gone to the International Space Station? None of the wiring runs to the ground.
