About what is the static friction coefficient for rubber on dry concrete?
About 1.0, one of the grippiest common pairs.
- About 0.04
- About 0.1
- About 1.0 ✔
Why: With a coefficient near 1.0, the friction force can be about as large as the normal force. Ice on ice is near 0.1, and Teflon on steel is about 0.04.
Huh, didn't know that: OpenStax lists the kinetic coefficient for rubber on dry concrete as about 0.7.
Rubber and concrete are very close friends. They really stick together.
