A disposable refrigerant cylinder is empty. What should you never do with it?
Never refill a disposable cylinder.
- Recycle it as scrap metal
- Label it as empty
- Refill it ✔
Why: Disposable cylinders are not built for repeated filling. Use DOT-approved reusable recovery cylinders for recovered refrigerant.
Huh, didn't know that: Under EPA's 2024 rule, a 608-certified tech may instead evacuate a disposable cylinder to 15 inches of mercury before disposal.
How many books can you put into an empty backpack? One! After that it's not empty.
