SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/fish-bobber-job
What is a bobber mainly used to do?
Hold your hook at a set depth.
- Drop a lure to the bottom
- Cut weeds off the line
- Hold bait at a desired depth ✔
Why: A bobber floats on the surface and keeps your baited hook at the depth you set. When it dips or moves, a fish may be biting.
Huh, didn't know that: A popping cork is a bobber that pops on the surface when you pull sharply, sounding like feeding baitfish.
What do you call a lazy crayfish? A slobster.
