Federal contractors whose contracts include the FAR E-Verify clause. For most others it is voluntary.

- Only businesses with over 500 workers
Why: E-Verify is a voluntary program for most employers. Businesses with federal contracts or subcontracts that contain the Federal Acquisition Regulation E-Verify clause must enroll and use it as a condition of the contract.
Huh, didn't know that: Employers must still complete Form I-9 for every new hire, whether or not they use E-Verify.
