What is the current through a 100-ohm resistor connected across 200 volts?
2 amperes.
- 0.5 amperes
- 2 amperes ✔
- 100 amperes
Why: Use I = E divided by R. Two hundred volts divided by 100 ohms equals 2 amperes.
Huh, didn't know that: This resistor would dissipate 400 watts at those values.
Why was the 100-ohm resistor never lonely? At 200 volts it always had 2 amps for company.
