SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/ham-meter-shows-numeric-value
Which part displays an electrical quantity as a number?
A meter shows an electrical quantity as a numeric value.
- A potentiometer
- A meter ✔
- A relay
Why: A meter measures something like voltage, current or power and shows you the value. A digital meter puts the number right on its screen.
Huh, didn't know that: Despite its name, a potentiometer is not a meter. It is a variable resistor, like a volume knob.
Why was the meter so honest? It always gave a straight reading.
