SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/ham-milliamps-conversion
How many milliamperes is 1.5 amperes?
1500 milliamperes, because milli means one thousandth.
- 0.0015 milliamperes
- 1,500,000 milliamperes
- 1500 milliamperes ✔
Why: There are 1000 milliamperes in one ampere. Multiply 1.5 by 1000 and you get 1500 milliamperes.
Huh, didn't know that: A microvolt is one one-millionth of a volt, and a microampere is one one-millionth of an ampere.
Why was the milliamp so humble? It knew it was only one thousandth of an amp.
