When may a ham message be encoded to hide its meaning?
Only for control commands to space stations or model craft.
- During a remote-station contest
- With approved digital codes
- For space-station or model-craft control ✔
Why: Amateur messages generally may not be encoded to obscure their meaning. The pool identifies control commands to space stations or model craft as the exception.
Huh, didn't know that: Ordinary digital encoding is not automatically secret, but intentional obscuring is restricted.
Why was the coded message shy? It did not want to reveal its meaning.
