SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/hamg-ten-meter-repeaters
Which part of the 10 meter band is available for repeaters?
Above 29.5 MHz, the top of the band.
- The portion above 29.5 MHz ✔
- The portion between 28.1 and 28.2 MHz
- The entire band
Why: Repeaters on 10 meters are kept to the top end of the band, above 29.5 MHz. That keeps the lower part free for CW, digital and SSB contacts.
Huh, didn't know that: Rule 97.205(b) bars repeaters from 28.0 to 29.5 MHz, so the 29.5 to 29.7 MHz slice is where they live.
You know you're a ham when you hike to the top of a famous mountain and, instead of enjoying the sunset, you see how many repeaters you can hit.
