What is SESK Drive mode?
SESK Drive mode at /drive/ is the Stuff Everyone Should Know Driving Game. It reads each card and its three answers out loud, and after the beep you answer by saying A, B or C, or by tapping. Play any test. It is hands-free for the car. Start it before you drive or let a passenger do it.
SESK Drive mode is the Stuff Everyone Should Know Driving Game: you play with your ears. Open /drive/, or tap 🚗 SESK Drive mode in the game menu.
- Pick a test: tap one, or tap 🎤 Say a test and say its name ("drone", "ham radio", "citizen").
- Tap Start the Driving Game. Your phone asks to use the microphone the first time.
- Listen to the card and the three answers. Wait for the beep, then say A, B or C. "Bravo" or a word from the answer works too.
- Right: you hear the joke players voted funniest. Wrong: you hear why.
Say "repeat", "skip", "pause" and "resume", "change test", or "I'm done" to hear your score. Tap an answer or a button any time, even while a card is read.
Safety first: start it before you pull out, or let a passenger run it.
Good to know:
- Your answers count like they do in the game: cards learned, Knowledge Score and the leaderboard.
- Keep the screen on with SESK in front: a locked phone or maps in front stops the listening.
- iPhone: voice answers work in Safari, not in the installed app. In the app you can tap A, B or C.
- If the microphone is blocked, tap your answers, or allow the microphone in your browser settings.
- Hearing problems? Under It doesn't hear me well? turn on the voice timing log. It sends what the phone heard, as text (never sound), so we can fix it.
