How often does EPA recommend routine air duct cleaning?
Not routinely, only as needed.
- Every single month
- Every year, no exceptions
- Not routinely, only as needed ✔
Why: EPA does not recommend cleaning ducts routinely, only as needed. Duct cleaning has never been shown to prevent health problems, and a light amount of household dust in ducts poses no known risk.
Huh, didn't know that: EPA does recommend inspecting and servicing fuel-burning furnaces, stoves and fireplaces before each heating season.
