Where in the home should a radon test kit go, according to EPA?
Lowest lived-in level, in a regularly used room, not the kitchen or bath.
- Lowest lived-in level, in a regularly used room ✔
- In the kitchen, next to the stove
- In the bathroom, beside the shower
Why: Put the kit in the lowest level you live in, in a room used regularly like a bedroom or living room. Avoid the kitchen and bathroom, and keep it at least 20 inches above the floor.
Huh, didn't know that: Keep the kit away from drafts, high heat, high humidity and exterior walls.
Where does a radon kit go? Anywhere but the kitchen. It doesn't need a recipe.
