SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/hunt-full-body-harness
What kind of fall protection does the Treestand Manufacturers Association say to use?
A full-body fall arrest harness, from the moment you leave the ground.
- A single strap safety belt
- A full-body fall arrest harness ✔
- A chest harness
Why: TMA says to wear a full-body harness every time you leave the ground, including climbing up and down. Single strap belts and chest harnesses are no longer allowed. Keep the tether snug with no slack when sitting.
Huh, didn't know that: TMA says a harness must be thrown away and replaced after it has caught a fall.
Why did the tree stand hunter love his harness? It really kept him attached to his hobby.
