SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/hunt-transport-cased
How should a firearm be carried in a vehicle on the way to hunt?
Unloaded and in a case, with ammunition stored separately.
- Unloaded and cased ✔
- Loaded but with the safety on
- Displayed in a rear window rack
Why: Loaded guns do not belong in or on vehicles. Hunter education also warns against window gun racks, which invite thieves. Keep the gun cased and unloaded until you reach your spot and are ready to hunt.
Huh, didn't know that: Hard cases give the most protection, especially for rifles with scopes.
Why did the pickup truck go to school? It wanted to be a little more cultivated.
