Which Japanese greeting do you use in the morning?
Ohayoo gozaimasu (おはようございます)
- Ohayoo gozaimasu (おはようございます) ✔
- Konnichiwa (こんにちは)
- Konbanwa (こんばんは)
Why: Ohayoo gozaimasu is the polite morning hello. Konnichiwa is for the daytime, and konbanwa is for the evening. Adding gozaimasu makes the morning greeting more polite.
Huh, didn't know that: NHK lists ohayoo with gozaimasu in parentheses because friends can drop the gozaimasu.
What do they eat for breakfast in Tokyo? Japancakes.
