What must be done with damaged electrical cords?
They must be removed from service.

Why: If a cord or plug shows a defect or damage that could hurt someone, it must be removed from service until repaired and tested. Cords must be checked before use on any shift.
Huh, didn't know that: Flexible cords may not be run through holes in walls, ceilings or floors.
Why did the cord get fired? It was too frayed to work.
