SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/osha-safety-net-30-feet-below
When safety nets are used for fall protection, how close below the work surface must they be installed?
No more than 30 feet below the working surface.
- No more than 20 feet below
- No more than 30 feet below ✔
- No more than 50 feet below
Why: 1926.502(c)(1) says safety nets must be installed as close as practicable, and never more than 30 feet below the working surface.
Huh, didn't know that: When nets are used on bridges, the fall area from the work surface down to the net must be clear of obstructions.
I would tell you a construction joke, but I am still working on it.
