SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/pilot-class-g-day-visibility
In Class G airspace above 1,200 feet AGL but below 10,000 feet MSL, what is the day VFR visibility minimum?
1 statute mile by day.
- 3 statute miles
- 5 statute miles
- 1 statute mile ✔
Why: The 91.155 table gives Class G above 1,200 feet AGL and below 10,000 MSL a day minimum of 1 statute mile. At night it jumps to 3 statute miles, and cloud clearances apply both times.
Huh, didn't know that: Class G is uncontrolled airspace, yet it still has VFR weather minimums that pilots must follow.
What do you call a deer with no eyes? No idea.
