SESK: Stuff Everyone Should Know · sesk.info/pilot-flight-review-24-months
How often must a private pilot complete a flight review to keep acting as pilot in command?
Every 24 calendar months.
- Every 12 calendar months
- Every 36 calendar months
- Every 24 calendar months ✔
Why: Rule 61.56 requires a flight review since the beginning of the 24th calendar month before the month you fly as pilot in command. An authorized instructor gives it and endorses your logbook.
Huh, didn't know that: Passing a practical test for a new pilot certificate or rating within that period also takes the place of a flight review.
Can February march? No, but April may.
