What kind of plunger are you supposed to use to unclog a toilet?

A flange plunger, which has a rubber flap that extends out the bottom.

  1. A flat red cup plunger
  2. A flange plunger with a flap ✔
  3. Any plunger works the same

Why: A flat cup plunger is only meant for flat sinks and tubs. The extra flap on a flange plunger fits perfectly into the toilet drain to create a seal.

Huh, didn't know that: You can tuck the flap up inside the flange plunger to use it on a sink if you need to.
